[edit] Roster:
This gives you a more comprehensive view of your team's Forwards, Midfielders, Defenders and Goalkeepers.
The Roster has two view methods:
Overview is the default view. It is used more for squad planning. Hovering your cursor over each profile allows you to check which members have spent their skill points. This allows you to strategize the composition of your squads and create focused teams. Want to make an all-star team of the best shooters? Maybe create a squad of tacklers, shirt rippers and other Malcontents? Plan it here!
Details is the next view. It is used for current Squad Composition. This gives you a breakdown of player locations for each member of the current squad. To the left, you are shown a Player Summary Box. This gives you a condensed profile for each player. Once you learn the basics and how it works, this affords a wealth of information at a glance, saving you valuable time for arranging your squads!
Player Summary Box
| Level: Level of Player - The higher the better! Fitness: The ghosted white strip graphically shows the Fitness Level |
| Position: The white text denotes the favored position of this player Foot Preference: The light green rectangle shows the favored foot position of the player |
Here is more information regarding the more important aspects:
| "Foot" (Text-wise) | Graphically: | Explanation: |
| L - Left C - Center R - Right | ![]() | What is often overlooked is foot placement. The light green rectangle in a player's profile box shows which foot they favor. This is important to consider when placing your players-- you should place a right-footed player on the right side of the field and left-footed player on the left. An ambidextrous teammate can fill the center position and cover both fields. You are, of course, free to customize your team as you wish. It might be advantageous to place a right footed player in left field if you wish to arrange a signature tactic, but is not advisable for new players. |
| "POS" (Favored_Position) | Graphically: | Explanation: |
| For - Forward Mid - MidFielder Def - Defender | ![]() | The green text shows the possible positions available to this player. The white text shows the position favored by the player. You should put players in their favored positions, but you are not limited to do so. While a team is expected to have a 4-4-2 format, this is not required either! As long as you have one GoalKeeper, one Defender, one Midfielder and one Forward, you can customize your team in any way. Note: GK stands for Goal Keeper. This is not shown in the Player Summary but rather denoted by a white number depicted centrally in the mini green field. |
Further, this list shows whether or not a player is professional (i.e. installed the game) or not. You can see a breakdown of their stats, their experience to next level, and how many skill points they have spent. If you spot a player who has not spent all of his skill points, you can send a reminder via a link that appears to the right.
[edit] Tactics:
This is where you can directly edit the starting positions of every member of your team. You can strategically place your players in the positions most suited to their roles or experiment with different ones.
Auto Tactics arranges your squad for you, creating a formation based on the standard 4-4-2 format.
If you have an abundance of players for your team, you can create multiple squads.
You have the same option of automatically populating multiple squads with a random assortment of players using the Auto Tactics button or you can customize your team based on your own preferences. You can tell which player is on which squad by the letter in the bottom left of a Player's "Shield". A letter "A" represents Squad "A", a letter "B" represents Squad "B", etc.
To the left of the field, your team is listed visually by their favored positions. You can collapse or expand each sub menu by clicking on the arrows to the upper right of each box.
Toggles a box open or closed. This is useful for viewing teammates capable of different positions.
Closes all other boxes except this one. This is handy to quickly see the players available for one position.
Below the field, you can also place a set of substitutes in case any of your "regulars" are injured or otherwise fouled out of a match. It is important to note that this is a possibility-- should you ever fall below six players for a match, you will automatically forfeit the game! Be sure to keep replacements handy.
In future versions of the game, we will have preexisting formations to choose from, though they will never be as effective as creating your own tactics.
