A vassal is a person who held land from a feudal lord and received protection in return for homage and allegiance.

Vassals are people who serve under you. If you have a liege, you are your liege's vassal. Vassals are gained by recruiting, seizing from other players, or through a vassal swearing fealty. You can use them for building and expanding (at your castle) and upgrading (at your workshop), and for other tasks like producing gold in the marketplace, as well as in battle, attacking others and defending your capital.

[edit] Recruiting

Recruit vassals to serve in your kingdom. These vassals enter as squires/handmaidens of strength 10 and will stay in your realm for up to 2 weeks. If a recruited vassal installs the Knighthood application, they become a Knight/Lady of strength 20 and will stay in the realm permanently.

[edit] Vassal Power

The strength of your vassals will determine their efficiency in building, upgrading, attacking and defending. This strength is the power the vassal has accumulated for him/herself, minus hits he/she have suffered in battles, whether in defense or offense. You can directly use a vassal's strength as units (e.g. a vassal with 25 strength produces 25 units/hour in construction or a 25 strength attack). 1/10 of a vassal's power adds to your power (a vassal with 33 power adds +3 to your power rating; this always rounds down).
